Predictive diallers and the regulators

There has been a flurry of activity from the regulators over recent weeks surrounding outbound call centres.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and Ofcom have issued a joint letter to all dialler users reminding them of their responsibilities. The letter is available here.

The letter follows a recent monetary penalty of £90,000 served by the ICO on DM Design after they made unsolicited marketing calls to individuals who had already registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS).

Network Answer Machine Detect?


We're part of an industry initiative looking at the potential benefits of network answer machine detect signalling.

Ofcom's consultants are conducting a survey to gather input from the industry. The purpose of the survey is to gather the views of stakeholders around the use of Answer Machine Detection (AMD) technology, the benefits but also any issues and concerns. You can provide your input here.
